ABOUT
A Dream That Sparked a Community Tradition
The Coweta Grand Prix began as a simple idea shared during a lighthearted conversation. For years, Scott Berta envisioned bringing a soapbox-style race to Coweta County after seeing a similar event elsewhere. He talked about the concept often, waiting for the right moment to bring the idea to life.
That moment arrived when Scott connected with Kristin Webb, then CEO of the Coweta Community Foundation. Recognizing the potential, Kristin refined the concept and introduced it to Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation. Yamaha’s then-vice president, Bob Brown, immediately saw an opportunity for Yamaha to champion youth development, creativity, and community impact.
Together, the three collaborated tirelessly to transform a simple dream into a one-of-a-kind event focused not just on racing, but on inspiration, education, and community enrichment.
